About

The short version is I am a musician, student, and human being. The slightly longer version is that I have been playing and performing music for  10 years or more. I mostly stick with my acoustic guitar, which is part of my handle AcousticProphet. I also play electric, and piano/keyboards. I am also a human being, and as such, I have things I believe, things I am unsure of, and things I am outright afraid of. This is partially the second half of my name. I am not sure if I consider myself a Christian, and I am skeptical of everything. Sometimes this is a wonderful trait, but it makes faith in anything rather difficult.

I am a geek. I read geeky books, I like geeky TV and film. As a musician, I over-analyze the music I listen to. I love the Dark Tower series of books, Lord of the Rings books, the Altered Carbon books, and Fight Club. I also love Dickens, Voltaire, and C.S. Lewis’ philosophical/religious studies books.
I love almost anything geeky from the BBC, I will watch nearly anything superhero based, or sci-fi. I’m not a “film nut” as much as I would like to be. I am not above terribad films from the 1980s and ’90s, and Keanu Reeves is always good. Though most of the superhero films are terrible, I love them. My idea of comedy is all over the map. Most TV is terrible, but I'm not above a Ninja Warrior marathon.

Yes, I play video games. Lots of them. You should see my backlog.

I like too much music to list here, but I will try a sampling: Radiohead, The Seatbelts, Tom Waits, The Beatles, Jack White in his several bands, Billy Joel, Flobots, Flight of the Conchords, Jet, Jimi Hendrix, Kate Nash, Mute Math, Nirvana, Yoko Kanno, Hillsong United, David Crowder Band, Thom Yorke (in solo stuff and Atoms for Peace), and on, and on and on. I wish I was more into the classic rock era. I am trying to enjoy it more and let it influence my playing.

That is the slightly longer version of myself. For the very long version, read this website when I post. If nobody reads my musings here, it will be my catharsis. Hold onto your butts.
